Post The DGSweeper - The Most Popular Dungeoneering Utility!

DGSweeper

    The DGSweeper is a tool, designed by myself, Stev Peifer. It started when a great friend of mine, Cheeesy, came to me with an idea. It began as a simple grid tool that overlayed your dungeoneering map which allowed you to place skill icons. It's since moved on to automatically capture the dungeoneering map, the party legend, time dungeons, and much more!

    • Sunday, April 8th, 2012 the DGSweeper reached 30,000 downloads!
    • Thursday, April 26th, 2012 the DGSweeper reached 40,000 downloads!
    • Friday, May 18th, 2012 the DGSweeper reached 50,000 downloads!
    • Friday, June 8th, 2012 the DGSweeper reached 60,000 downloads!
    • Monday, June 25th, 2012the DGSweeper reached 70,000 downloads!
    • Monday, July 9th, 2012the DGSweeper reached 80,000 downloads!
    • Sunday, July 22nd, 2012the DGSweeper reached 90,000 downloads!

    A huge thank-you to everyone who's helped make the DGSweeper what it is today. Also, a huge thank-you to Kelly for putting up with me through the countless hours and hours of designing it!

Features

    DGConnect

      For those who have used the DGSweeper; picture being able to add key icons to your party members' maps. Now, imagine that every time a party member opened and captured their map it updated yours! Imagine that they could add key icons to yours!

      The DGConnect is a built-in feature of the DGSweeper 1.0.2.9. It generates an eight digit key number which you'll give to your team mates. Using this key, your DGSweeper will connect and monitor a PHP script written and provided by Tip.It's MageUK. Each time you add a key to your map, or remove one, it will send a message to the PHP script and update it for everyone else!

      A huge thanks to Tip.It and MageUK for their hard work in writing and hosting the PHP script and their huge help and support in getting this idea off the ground!

      Walkthrough

        Getting Started
        Firstly, you'll need to download version 1.0.2.9 or higher. Once you've downloaded it, right click the tray icon and select DGConnect.

        Generating A Key
        Next, a player in your party will have to create a key for each of you to connect. Only one person needs to create it. To do this click Generate! This will send a request to Tip.It's PHP script with your fingerprint and return an 8 digit key. Using the copy button, send the key to the 4 other players in the party. There is no limit to how many can watch and/or interact with a single key number. Only the person who generated the key number can clear the entire map.

        Connecting To A Key
        Once you've either generated a key, or been given one from a partner, paste it in the edit box inside the Connect To Key section. Once you've done that, elect a connection speed. The speeds affect how often your DGSweeper will check for updated keys. The times are roughly as follows:
        • Fast: 2.5 seconds
        • Normal: 5 seconds
        • Slow: 7.5 seconds

        Once you've filed out all the required information, simply click Start! If connection was successful, your DGConnect window will say DGConnect started and a red text saying DGConnect will be added to the map on the DGSweeper.. Any keys you add, using your key utility will be added to anyone's map who is currently connected to the same key number!

        Keep in mind, the default hotkey to hide and show the key utility is ~RCtrl & RShift. If you can not click the keys or the map, simply toggle the utility on and off again.

    Keys

    Screenshot
    Image

      One of the best features for new keyers is the DGSweeper's key utility. When enabled, this utility will allow you to place keys anywhere on your map to remember what door was what key! Whether you're using it to mark every key door or to simply keep track of your gates, this utility will be sure to help you out!

      With update 1.0.2.9, this utility will greatly enhance your dungeons and floors times as you'll be able to use the new feature, DGConnect, to easily communicate and mark keys for your team!

    Legend

    Screenshot
    Image

      This feature of the DGSweeper comes in handy for those who have difficulty remembering which player in their party belongs to which marker on the map. If you see, "Open your Party Details," simply open that interface to automatically capture and display the names of everyone in your party along with their colored marker!

    Map

    Screenshot
    Image

      The most well-known function of the DGSweeper is it's map utility. Every 50 milliseconds, the DGSweeper will automatically scan to see if a dungeoneering map is present. If it is, it will capture it and display it in a great looking and re-sizable GDI+ window!

      Save Maps / View Maps

      Screenshot (Example)
      Image

        Whether you are studying map patterns and paths or just feel like showing or uploading a map you had, the DGSweeper comes with an option to save your map each time it detects one! By default it saves these maps to the working DIR, but it can be changed to save them where ever you wish so that you can view them later!

    Potion

    Screenshot (Example)
    Image

      Ever come up to a door which you and your party members lacked the level for? Unlike other programs and calculators that tell you what level you can boost to, the potion feature shows you the minimum levels needed to open that door with each potion.

      For directions on how to use the potion feature, please see !pot.

    Timer

    Screenshot
    Image

      When doing floors, one of the most important things is speed. The timer utility will automatically count down when you first open your map in a dungeon. That is, if you don't start it manually yourself.

    Size

      If you play on a large or small screen, the DGSweeper has the ability to scale the map size to 50%, 75%, or 100% it's normal size! No worries though, with the key utility disabled, you can actually click right through the map window!

    Transparency

      If the DGSweeper is taking up too much room, or you prefer to be able to see through to the content it's covering up, you can easily set the transparency to 50%, 75%, or 100%!

Hotstrings

    Hotstrings are commands that are typed directly into RuneScape. It doesn't matter if it's typed into the chat box, friends chat, etc.

    To launch these hotstrings, simply type !{command} followed by either a period or a space. The various commands and how to use them are listed below.

    !pot

      Directions
      To use this hotstring, type !pot followed by a period or space. Next, type part of a skill followed by a period. After the level, type a skill followed by either a period or enter.

      The pot hotstring requires two other parameters. These are skill and level. After typing !pot, you'll receive a notification that the command was successful and what else is required.

      It's worth noting that you do not have to type the entire skill name. Typing enough to recognize the skill will work, but it searches in order. So you may think typing agi will result in Agility. Wrong! It will result in Magic. You could use agility, agil, il, or many more various combinations. For Slay, you could type ay, yer.

      Mess around with it before entering a floor to get comfortable with it!

    bco bcr ... yt yw

      Directions
      These hotstrings are far more straight forward then the others. Using them will select a color and key to be placed on the map. It's designed for the key utility.

      To use these, you must be familiar with the key abbreviations. You can see these by clicking here. Only the shortest versions of these abbreviations will work. Therefore, using !crsh will not work because the abbreviation for crimsons is just c, not cr, and the abbreviation for shield is just s, not sh. The proper hotstring would be !cs.

      A full list of abbreviations can be found below.

      Abbreviations
      Code:
      _Resource.Key.Abbreviation:=["bco","bcr","bd","bp","br","bs","bt","bw","cco","ccr","cd","cp","cr","cs","ct","cw","goco","gocr","god","gop","gor","gos","got","gow","grco","grcr","grd","grp","grr","grs","grt","grw","oco","ocr","od","op","or","os","ot","ow","pco","pcr","pd","pp","pr","ps","pt","pw","sco","scr","sd","sp","sr","ss","st","sw","yco","ycr","yd","yp","yr","ys","yt","yw"]

Resource.Ini

    A lot of your DGSweeper can be customized through Resource.Ini. This section will walk you through just how to use this Ini file to customize your DGSweeper.

    To get to your Resource.Ini, right click the tray icon and select View Resources. Once open, you'll notice a file called Resource.Ini. Open this file with Notepad.

    Once Resource.Ini is open you'll see the format used. The default values for the Ini file can be found below.
    Code:
    [HOTKEY]
    _Properties.Show.Key=~RCtrl & RShift
    _Properties.Show.Legend=~RAlt
    _Properties.Show.Map=~RCtrl
    _Properties.Show.Timer=~RAlt & RShift
    _Properties.Size.Down=~RCtrl & Down
    _Properties.Size.Up=~RCtrl & Up
    [PROPERTY]
    _Properties.Size=75
    _Properties.Show.Map=0
    _Properties.Show.Legend=1
    _Properties.Show.Key=1
    _Properties.Show.Timer=1
    _Properties.Transparency=100
    [RESOURCE]
    _Resource.Pen.Legend=0
    _Resource.Pen.Timer=0

    If a section or key doesn't exist then the DGSweeper will use it's default value. You can see that you can edit any of the hotkeys, properties, or resources. The DGSweeper must be reloaded after editing this file for changes to take effect.

    Hotkeys

      While editing the hotkeys, you must keep in mind that if you have two keys listed that they must be pressed in order! For example, the default hotkey to show and hide the key is utility is ~RCtrl & RShift. In this case, RCtrl must be pressed before RShift.

      A list of hotkey modifiers and walk-through on how to use them can be found here.

      If you get an error attempting to change a hotkey, simply delete the key for that hotkey all-together to use the default or copy it from the code listed above.

    Properties

      Currently, for version 1.0.2.8 and previous versions, the only property publicly available to change is the border colors of the legends and timer. To do this, replace the values of 0 in the code above with any hex value in RGB format. For example, try e86904 for a nice orange color!

Change-log:

Spoiler:
  • 1.0.0.0 - Released key utility.
  • 1.0.0.1 - Added ability to remove key utility and monitor map.
  • 1.0.0.2 - Fixed core functions to work after the bot nuke.
  • 1.0.0.3 - Both key utility and map monitor keep themselves off the RuneScape applet.
  • 1.0.0.4 - Added an Aero toggle for Vista and 7 users.
  • 1.0.0.5 - Changed the core function RS_Get_Dungeoneering_Map(). This no longer uses PixelSearch, however uses slightly more CPU usage and memory. Aero will no longer be a problem.
  • 1.0.0.6 - Completely fucked up and had to revert back to 1.0.0.5.
  • 1.0.0.7 - Deleted the Dungeonsweeper and wrote the DGSweeper from the ground up. Changes include:
    • Can now show and hide the key utility by simply right clicking the tray icon... Or you can simply double click it!
    • Showing and hiding the key utility no longer requires the program to restart!
    • Can now reset the keys on a map by right clicking the tray icon.
    • It now uses 3 separate GDI+ windows instead of 1. This is for plans I have in the future.
    • Removed all variables and now use a complete list of arrays to hold all information. This was the biggest change.
    • Optimized it to use far less CPU usage, less memory, and operate extremely faster.
    • Fixed the issue with it capturing the wrong image. For example, if you were fighting and the map closed too quickly, it captured you getting hit instead of the map.
    • Fixed the white trim around some key icons... However, with the new format, some keys have not kept their transparency. This will be fixed in 1.0.0.8.
  • 1.0.0.8 - DGSweeper now remembers transparency and key settings and has a sexy new look to match RuneScape.
  • 1.0.0.9 - Fixed several small bugs that were released in the previous version as well as cleaned up the GUI. It should now use less resources, run faster, and need to refer to the resource files less.
    1.0.1.0 - After a ton of work, we finally narrowed down that the what was causing the map to be misplaced was Software mode. This also screwed with the patterns that the DGSweeper used to scan for a present map. This has been fixed, support for Software mode added, and the program should now work for all users! I still expect minor bugs, however! Performanced should also be doubled!
  • 1.0.1.1 - The DGSweeper now automatically detects when you've entered a dungeon and will start and display a timer.
  • 1.0.1.2 - Removed the auto-detection of a dungeon starting and made starting/stopping the timer manual. Auto-detection caused massive lag.
  • 1.0.1.3 - Auto-updater released! From now on, if your version is out of date, you can simply right click the tray icon and click Update to automatically update! You can now see your version number in the tray menu as well as toggle the timer on and off!
  • 1.0.1.4 - After finding out that Software Mode was causing the DGSweeper not to function, I loosened the restrictions in the pattern recognition. After some tweaking, these restrictions have been re-added, so users will find that the DGSweeper no longer captures rugs and carpets thinking that their pattern is in-fact a map.
  • 1.0.1.5 - A problem with the auto-updater has been fixed. When an update is available, it will now save to the same folder as the current version and open that folder with the version of the DGSweeper that was downloaded selected. The DGSweeper_Manager has been removed and therefore the size gone from 1.22MB to 868KB.
  • 1.0.1.6 - Removed all leniency in the pattern recognition. I've found and patched the issue with Software mode, therefore there's no longer for it.
  • 1.0.1.7 - The timer now automatically starts, if it's not been started previously, when it first detects a map. Pressing RCtrl and RShift together will show/hide the key utility!
  • 1.0.1.8 - Players wanted a legend type window to show the players and their colored marker on the map. This has been added. To add players, right click the tray meenu and choose Set Player.
  • 1.0.1.9 - The DGSweeper now automatically retrieves the list of players and displays their markers simply by clicking the legend window! You can show/hide this window by pressing RAlt or using the tray menu.
  • 1.0.2.0 - Please refer to this post for a full list of changes.
  • 1.0.2.1 - Fixed the legend not locating the party details in DirectX.
  • 1.0.2.2 - A list of minor bug fixes has been completed. Slight tweaks due to feedback. Saving maps has now been added! Check out this post for details and directions.
  • 1.0.2.3 - A simple update to track the number of downloads of the DGSweeper to give me an idea of just how many are using it. The auto-updater has also been fixed as it wasn't working on people's machines.
  • 1.0.2.4 - Fixed problems with it not detecting the map for some players. Also slightly altered the design.
  • 1.0.2.5 - Using different resource images for the key icons. This was to fix the keys moving when a new colour was selected.
  • 1.0.2.6 - Another rewrite from the ground up. With a huge speed increase, better capture and detection methods, and a new layout, this is one of my favourite DGSweepers yet.
  • 1.0.2.7 - Uses same font as RuneScape website. Fixed legend markers not appearing, legend not capturing, and saving maps and winterfaces to the folder "0".
  • 1.0.2.8 - This update brings the introduction to hotstrings, potion calculators, custom border colors, gradient fonts, winterface changes, etc. Timer now stops on winterface capture.
  • 1.0.2.9 - The introduction of DGConnect and key hotstrings! Map sharing is taking longer then expected...
  • 1.0.3.0 - DGSweeper hit 30,000 unique downloads! Please refer to this post for a full list of changes.
  • 1.0.3.1 - Beginning object oriented GUIs. Repositioned DGSweeper for Jagex's keybelt. Added a key list to the key utility (For keeping track of gates/etc). Check out this post for details and directions.'
  • 1.0.3.2 - Fixing and tweaking the new styled GUIs. Also rewrote portions of the key utility to prevent multiple keys on the map,list, etc.
  • 1.0.3.3 - A complete rewrite from the ground up. A new design, far greater speeds, and a better legend! Please refer to this post for a full list of changes.
  • 1.0.3.4 - Fixed many issues with the legend. It now captures for all players and prevents capturing an empty legend. Fixed hotsring handler.

These scripts are awesome, glad to see they have their own topic now, so people don't have to dig through the AHK discussion topic, and from what that topic had turned into, it belonged in Metagame anyways.
I actually do have a question about AHK though. What command is used to open another file, and if the file is in the same directory as the script, is it necessary to include the full address of it? I already have a few different AHK scripts, and I currently have Win-Space set to end the scripts, but I would also like to have one script that is just always active, that I can use to open up any other script. What would be the best way to do that?

Old post hid, just had to place the whole function list in each of my scripts.

Is there a way to have a 'master list' where all my hotkeys go to automatically so I dont have to copy/paste in every script?

D=8: "it's all so clear now!"
Meaning: it's really just a way of telling someone that they were helpful explaining a difficult concept in layman's terms. You may see this one written the other way - 8=D- but it's the same thing. Any time you use either abbreviation, never put any words in your post.
Example:

To open another file, you use the Run command. If the file was in the same directory as the current AHK file, you could simply do:
Code:
Run, Screenshot.jpg

However, if the file was in another directory, say the desktop, you must give the path:
Code:
Run, %A_Desktop%\Screenshot.jpg

I'm not sure what you mean by the last part... You've got to tell me a little more about it. :P.

Old post hid, just had to place the whole function list in each of my scripts.

Is there a way to have a 'master list' where all my hotkeys go to automatically so I dont have to copy/paste in every script?

You've got the whole functions thing all wrong. If you wanted to set Alt-B to click the Deposit Carried Items, your script would look like this:
Code:
CoordMode, Mouse, Screen
CoordMode, Pixel, Screen

!b::
   Click_DCI()
Return

You can have an #Include file where you can place all functions so that there's no need to copy and paste the functions into each script. The best way to go about this, paste all the RuneScape functions into a file and name it RuneScape_Functions.ahk. Then at the top of your script, put:
Code:
#Include RuneScape_Functions.ahk

Again, if the functions file is in the same folder, there is no need to add a directory before the #Include file. However, if they were in seperate folders, you'd have to do, for example:
Code:
#Include %A_Desktop%\RuneScape_Functions.ahk

Or where ever the file is located.

Any other questions feel free to ask. :P.

Wicked, I think I might be misunderstanding something, or I'm not too noob at all of this, but when you define your script to say, "click quick prayer", how does it know where to click? Do you pre-define it, or is there some arcane magic I don't know of?

Isn't many of these scripts considered macroing, and therefore banable?

It uses formulas that I've written to detect each button/item/etc. :P.

Read the first, "Must Read," in the first post.

Although this does work you can still have them all on the same line without need for the "return". Only for one command scripts of course.

Anyways, I would love some teleport scripts. Mainly Lumbridge, Varrock, Fallador, ardy, dueling ring -> M.A., and any thing else that comes to mind. This is for tree farming if you hadn't noticed. I'll understand if you cant do this, how long does it take you to make one?

D=8: "it's all so clear now!"
Meaning: it's really just a way of telling someone that they were helpful explaining a difficult concept in layman's terms. You may see this one written the other way - 8=D- but it's the same thing. Any time you use either abbreviation, never put any words in your post.
Example:

long post with a lot of words in it

Wasn't worried about them all being on one line; I just like my work looking as organized as possible and easy to understand for others. :P.

My next plan was for spell-books. So you could click a specific spell... Or right click a spell and select a menu item. This will be a lengthier script since the position of spells in each of the spell-books are different.

Takes me about 5-10 minutes to write each function.

Dueling ring/jewelry teleports can be done with Click_ME(). ;).

And your formulas are in the coding you provide or are they obtainable elsewhere?

Consider it done.

And zaaps1, the formula for each item/button's X Y are inside each of the functions.
