How modifiers affect hunter accuracy
Make a copy of this spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... WtreEVYY0E. Fill out the necessary information. Then, count how many times a creature attempts to go in your trap. Input this value into column K. Input the number of vines you receive into column J.


Finding the best trap set ups
As of right now, just post potential candidates, like the following:

I think Paul's formation is the most widely accepted, but location is still fairly controversial.

Personally my SW trap is one square north-east of the corner of the vine (i.e. shift that setup approx. 2 west 2 south)

I thought that they spawn 1 north of where you caught them, and that they can spawn on spots you cant walk on either

So now what needs to be done is to figure out Jagex' "random" npc wander pattern. I doubt that Jagex uses a truely random number generator because the first perfect random number generate was only developed about two years back. They probably use something that is quasi random pattern. Find thins out would be advantageous for any future updates to hunter as well because it can make for a process of find the expected values of each square as a function of the distance from the spawn points and creatures wander pattern.

Question: Why is the trap that is place most north east in the picture placed on that square. It seems that if upon the spawn is a jadinko has an equal probability of walk any of the 8 directions it should be place 1 square north of where Thai is standing? Has this placement been tested to be the best? I know that this is the formation Telmo used for 200m hunter and he did it quite fast so there may be a reason for why it is there. Keep in mind I know very little about this method and have never actually done it my self. I am just speaking from a purely mathematical perspective.

I moved 2 squares east to see if draconics spawns stayed the same, doesnt look like they did.

I think commons can spawn pretty much anywhere but only 2 squares from a trap.
I saw 1 of the spawns run off far north so I guess they have no roaming range. Unless I'm just seeing things.

Ok I definitely saw a common spawn and run far north and dissappear out of sight, there were no other commons around to confuse with.

I tested some accuracy using meredith's ahk fishy thingy to keep count
Dacronics caught: 119
Draconics not caught: 23
Commons caught: 46
Commons not caught: 9
Wilted: 3
Time: 26 minutes

Dacronics caught: 100
Draconics not caught: 24
Commons caught: 23
Commons not caught: 3
Wilted: 2
Time: 21 minutes

It takes 3 ticks to go from the west to the northeast traps, 2 ticks between south and northeast, and 2 between north-central and west. There's also only 1 trap that's 1 tick away from all the others, compared to two with the other setup. So unless you can check the east trap after every other trap, it's gonna be less efficient.

There is a spawn I missed 2 north of me in the first picture which is 1 north of the position the trap was moved to. You can run west to northeast in 2 ticks.

It should take 2 ticks to get around the vine, then 1 more to get on the trap.

Run 2 east then 2 north :P People do it for agil so. Its difficult to tell just by watching how many ticks it takes- maybe I'll get out the cannon tomorrow.
