I think Jadinkos have a higher chance of getting trapped in the trap they are facing. They often spawn facing a used trap and will stop in front of it until it is picked up and then they go towards another trap.

My theory:

There are two stages of hunting, attraction and catching. If the creature wanders within x squares of a trap, they have a chance of being pulled towards said trap. The next stage then decides whether they get caught or escape.

I think you're noticing them after the attraction stage, when they're already focused on the trap.

Sounds right. But this means that they can focus on traps that have something caught in them already.

iirc spawns increase every 400 people (or at least they did in like 07 lol). Your data isn't really consistent with that though :p and they don't split evenly into ticks. I think that means you should go back and test more.

Although I can conclude that below 800 population, draconics spawn 3 ticks faster than commons, and 2 above 800 (assuming 1100 was an error on your part). Or something...maybe it was 4, idk, I'm tired.

Thanks for the data, as always :p

Yes I thought you'd say more testing but I'm done with hunter for a while. Maybe I'll test their spawns just after a sysytem update.

278000/59400=4.68

1 common per 4.68 draconics

That seems like a pretty good sample size lol

Idk why he didn't just fill his inv so he wouldn't have to deal with seeds.

OK I am convinced trap location affects spawns.
Here I was catching igneous jadinkos then adjusted traps slightly and they didnt spawn in any of the first locations

i saw the same thing happening with commons but not draconics

It may be that they can't spawn on a trap, so they spawn 1 square n/s/w/e. That's the only thing that makes sense to me.

using that spot, you can keep your bear where he is in the picture. since a bear will only "teleport" to you if you are 3 or more spaces away from him for a certain number of seconds, your bear will never teleport since you are at most 2 spaces away. the bear will never get in your way :>

edit: 5th trap was looted (just took an old level up pic since i cbf going back there to make a screenie). it was where my character was facing. 2-1-2 x pattern like others above me.

Yeah, it's all well and good for the northern spot, not so much if you're doing aquatic/cannibal or igneous/carrion.

No. Foot used a different trap setup then telmo.

Telmo used this one:

herblore-habitat-project-t211.html

I started this and then lost interest, theres around 100 data points for catches/attemps/traps falling over for commons with and without an arctic bear.
